It’s really fun to make tumblr themes that’s why I decided to make free themes and I never thought that I would make it this far where somebody’s copying your codes without your permission and claiming that he or she is the owner of that code but you’re too kind so you only asked for a credit that has never been properly given to you. So what’s now? Are you going to spoil the thief? And let him or her do the illegal things? Please don’t.
With the collaboration among the selected Filipino tumblr theme makers, we composed and hosted Report Code Thieves to prevent and to discourage prevailing code thievery.
What is Report Code Thieves? This will be our way to hunt down code thief and to protect our codes against code theft. Code theft includes the following:
- Copying some part of other theme maker’s code.
- Editing someone else’s theme and claiming it as their own theme. (Editing a theme that you’ve just copied doesn’t mean it yours already.)
- Making other’s theme as your base code. (Editing codes that don’t originally belong to you doesn’t mean you’re already the theme maker.)
- Additionally, redistribution of theme/code that is not originally belong to you are prohibited.
If you found someone who performed code theft or stealing, please let us know for them to be added on the code thieves list.
